Happy mother's day, mom?

So, due to a very busy weekend, I wouldn't be visiting mom on mother's day. She lives about an hour and a half from me. I decided to order some flowers and have them delivered to her in advance since most florists don't deliver on Sundays. I ordered a decent bouquet with a vase and a mother's day card. It was a bit expensive but floral deliveries often tend to be. This morning I checked my email and found a delivery confirmation on the flowers. I called my mom and asked her if she had received them. She replied that she had not. I told her to go check her front porch since that was what was stated on the delivery confirmation. So, she went to her porch and found a box. I told her to open the box to see if it was my flowers. She opened the box and said that it was a bunch of roses and a vase. Her tone of voice did not seem at all enthusiastic or surprised. I asked her if they were pretty since I had not seen them in person; I had ordered them off the internet. She replied, "Eh, it's nothing special... just a bunch of multi-colored roses in a vase. There's no decoration or anything. There aren't even those little tiny white flowers." I asked her if she had found a card. She said that there was no card, no nothing... just flowers. I asked her to check the box to see if it was taped to it. She found it and said, "Yeah, it says happy mother's day from you and your family... nothing special." I thought to myself... great... just great... it's not up to her standards... again. After that, she said that she was in a rush to go somewhere and that was that. My mom... gotta love her. She's always been this way. Nothing is ever good enough for her. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. If I don't give her anything and just call to wish her a happy mother's day... I'm cheap and don't care about her. If I get her something... it's never good enough and I shouldn't have wasted my money. There's no pleasing her! Oh well... after this many years, I should know better. Well, happy mother's day, mom! LOL.
